FAQ:

Frequently asked questions

For what types of wine is the Gabriel glass suitable?
The Gabriel glass is a glass for all occasions. You only need one glass for your personal wine enjoyment. Enjoy sparkling wines, white wines, rosé wines, red wines and sweet wines from the Gabriel glass. (Long drinks, whiskey, brandy, cognac and also the beer taste great from it).
Is the Gabriel glass also recommended for champagne or spirits?

Champagne freaks who value vinosity in champagne are also thrilled and say quite clearly: Yes! The shape of the Gabriel glass makes the drink appear much softer, so that the full aroma is transported to the nose without any alcoholic aftertaste.

What is the recommended filling quantity?
For optimal wine enjoyment, we recommend filling the Gabriel glass to the widest part of the goblet.
Are Gabriel-Glas products suitable for dishwashers?
Instructions for use: In the dishwasher, please! The Gabriel glass is made with the latest glass technology and is lead-free. This prevents blue discolouration, milk cloudiness and scratches. Please refrain from using tabs and liquid detergents containing chlorine. Both are aggressive and attack the surface of all glass.
How do I care for my Gabriel glass?
Please refrain from using tabs and liquid detergents containing chlorine. Both are aggressive and attack the surface of all glasses. For perfect results: In the dishwasher, please. Wash in the upper rack at a slight angle and with the normal rinse programme (we do not recommend the glass programme as it does not dry properly). We use Sun powder and Sun shine and therefore always have brilliant glasses.
From now on, do without washing by hand – this is old news with the Gabriel glass. And if you do: polish your glasses with our Clara cloth – you will be thrilled. Conventional dishcloths are not suitable, as the leverage during polishing is immense and there is therefore a risk of breakage, even if you feel that you have been very careful with it, besides which fibres of the cloth usually stick to the glass.
Why has my Gabriel glass become blind or cloudy?
Because I washed it with tabs: The Gabriel glass is lead-free, so the surface of the glass is much more porous. By using tabs the surface of the glass is much more porous.
Because I left the red wine residue in the glass overnight:
Depending on the colour intensity of the wine, a slight discolouration may occur, but disappears again in the dishwasher. So do not.
So under no circumstances should you use any aggressive agents (Durgol, etc.).
Because I have had any utensils in the machine that are not made of stainless steel.
Cheap metals can destroy all the glasses.
What are the dimensions of the Gabriel glass?
Dimensions: Height: 23.5 cm / Diameter: 9.5 cm (belly) / 6.6 cm (goblet opening)
Where and how is the Gabriel glass made?
For Gabriel glass production, we always book one or two days at a state-of-the-art production machine, depending on demand. Our glasses are produced in shifts at the Rona factory in Lednike Rovne (in the north of Slovakia). While we produce 70,000 “StandArt” glasses there in one day, we charter a specially trained production team for the Gabriel glass “Gold Edition”, because not every glassblower manages to blow these unique glasses. In two shifts, these special glassblowers produce only 3,000 glasses within 5 days.

Which Gabriel glass suits me? StandArt or Gold Edition?
A very often asked question: What is the difference between the Gabriel glass “Gold Edition” and the Gabriel glass “StandArt”? The answer is/would be very simple: The difference is about 60 grams. The shape is identical, the size too! And yet, on closer inspection and especially when tasting, you will find subtle and not so small differences! Last but not least, the special haptic* of the Gabriel Gold Edition glass also makes a clearly perceptible difference.

*Haptic perception is the active feeling of size, contours, surface texture, weight, etc. of an object through the integration of all skin senses and depth sensitivity.

Gabriel glass “StandArt”!

Shouldn’t it be called Standard? In defining the term for the cheaper, machine-produced Gabriel glass, I have deliberately created a new term. Because standard generally means the norm or defines normality. But even the Gabriel glass, which is not quite normal, is a certain object of art. And with art one also means “kind”. So the term “StandArt” has given rise to a definition that is somewhere between the norm and art. Thanks to a sophisticated, ingenious production technique, this lead-free, dishwasher-safe glass has no seams and thus no predetermined breaking points. This makes the glass surprisingly robust despite its lightness. The weight is approx. 150 g. This StandArt version offers unbelievable wine enjoyment and has left competitor products behind in comparative tests.

Area of application: in private everyday use, catering, at wine tastings and of course in the gastronomy.

Gabriel glass “Gold Edition”!

Gold is a precious metal. Everyone knows that! In our name association we want to declare it as a “particularly noble glass”. It is the lightest wine glass in the world produced in significant quantities! The shape is identical to the StandArt glass. With minimal deviations, which perhaps make it possible to multiply the pleasure even further. Thanks to the manual production, we are able to produce the exact glass to the millimetre, which we have worked out during the creation, in order to achieve the maximum enjoyment of wine. A strict quality control selects only the most perfect glasses. We want to encourage the dedicated wine connoisseur to switch to this product. Compared to other mouth-blown competitor products, our price is unbeatably attractive on the market. The Gabriel “Gold Edition” glass is also lead-free, dishwasher-safe and has no predetermined breaking points.

Area of application: in private everyday use for wine freaks, at rarity tastings and in top gastronomy.
